Several market-oriented job skills help the underprivileged youth get employment in sectors such as service and retail. Some of the common skills in demand include:

- 2D and 3D animation
- Retail management
- Soft skills
If we had to give out the complete details, we would state that there is no subject or specialization that we cannot cover. Even if we do not have the faculty for a particular subject working with us at a particular point of time, we can always arrange the same. In terms of knowledge, we are committed to ensure that the learners get all the information possible. At the same time, our instructors possess the patience to answer every problem in detail, with utmost patience.
Interestingly, it is not the lack of knowledge amongst the youth that poses problems in India today. Instead, being unable to learn and incorporate the right skills and attitudes are major points of concern. Only with proper direction will they be able to channelize their energies in the correct direction, and the team at Our Happiness Foundation can help achieve this through social changes and innovative transformations.
Our initiative helps the country fight against problems of unemployment and self-confidence. If truth be told, unemployment has been a massive concern for the country since Independence. Providing employment to the youth helps in fighting problems of crime, increment in society’s lower strata, and less number of economic movements. Our Happiness Foundation is one of the very few NGO’s that understands this concern and is willing to tackle it at the grass roots.
Common problems faced by trainers while imparting skills are:
- Lack of project management skills
- Unwilling to be flexible about work ethics
- Casual attitude towards work
- High absenteeism
- Not adhering to safety norms at construction sites
It has been understood that the way to solve these issues is to create an interesting, practical-oriented course which is able to deliver vocational skills in a hands-on manner. Our courses provide widespread recognition among recruiters and also teach basic entrepreneurial skills.
Traditionally, the problem with youth in the rural areas has been their exposure to animal husbandry, agriculture and other occupational skills, which result in long work hours, limited mobility and low wages. Till the time telephones, mobile phones, televisions and other modern gadgets hadn’t entered their lives, they were happy- now their aspirations have risen. As a result, the youth realize that they will get better jobs only in the city, resulting in mass migration. It is our duty to make similar jobs available to them in the rural areas as well.
Development challenges in India require inclusive and innovative solutions that can have a multiplication effect and address challenges in scale and impact. At Our Happiness Foundation, we look to harness the energy of the youth and use it to stimulate entrepreneurship that can socially transform India as a nation.
