Our Happiness Foundation is a non-government organization headquartered in New Delhi. The aim of the organization is to carry out welfare across all segments of population, and not focus only on a specific group. While we aim to eliminate classroom hunger on one hand (Mid day meals), relief from the natural disasters has been another objective. Similar to this, the organization of free health and food camps is also very important for the sake of uniform development across India. We do not include any specific target group for our programs. In fact, underprivileged young children, middle age and old age men and women are all part of these groups. We strive to create a healthy mix of individuals who become positive influencers for other members of their groups.
We believe that society can be truly happy when each segment is being cared for, and that’s how the name “Our Happiness Foundation” was born. We have understood that the only way around to multiply our reach with every passing year is by making increasing use of technology. With the help of constant support from top corporates, individual sponsors and several well-wishers, this NGO has been able to operate successfully. Human beings have always been members of one single community, and by accepting this reality, we have been able to meet various developmental challenges across the length and breadth of the country.
Financial aids or markets along will never be enough to solve problems due to poverty in India. The number of people who come under this category is staggering, to say the least. As per the Asian Development Bank, 21.9% of India’s population was below the poverty line in 2011. Problems with respect to clean water and electricity are everywhere, and we are doing our bit to ensure that these challenges are eliminated. This is being made possible by coming up with sustainable solutions for poverty. At Our Happiness Foundation, we believe that the world should be based on happiness and dignity in the lives of all.
One of the most effective investments has been the education of the girl child, and this has been ably supported by the World Bank. Facilitating educational facilities have necessitated efforts on our side, which have been constantly made. Benefits associated with girl education include- lower fertility rates, better economic production, decline in maternal mortality, and enhanced child health.
To facilitate the work that we do across different fields of development, we have team members from a number of fields. These members are able to bring together their experiences to enhance the lives of others, and are driven by the greater goal of doing good for humanity.
It is hard to put one challenge ahead of the other, stating that it is more critical. For example, challenges with respect to hygiene and poverty are both equally important. Therefore, when we are looking to approach such challenges, we do so with equal efforts in every direction. For all of these, we have adequate staff to handle logistics. We never compromise in the efforts made towards the betterment of humanity.
